Study and student loans

Students can apply for State-underwritten study and student loans (covering the cost of tuition and daily costs) at banks that cooperate with ALTUM.

At the moment, study and student loans are issued by Swedbank:

Applying for a loan will be simple – via an Internet bank right after signing an agreement with a university. In turn, the bank will itself apply a State guarantee after assessing the application and signing the contract; applicants will not have to do anything else.

The loans will be available to both EU/EEA citizens and non-citizens, and to permanent residents of the European Community who have a valid residence permit to study for a bachelor, master or doctor’s degree at universities accredited in Latvia.
